Opening in Erechim/RS
Activities began in the city of Erechim/RS, when the brothers Jandyr Sady Durli, Olímpio Durli and Egídio Durli founded the company Durli Leathers in a very artisanal way.
The products, which were first made in the basement of the house and then in the modest wooden shed, were sold in Erechim and the surrounding region. The brothers would go out peddling, laden with slippers, boots, belts and saddlery, and come back laden with salted leather to tan.
Restructuring
The challenges were great, but so was the desire to work and prosper. And in 1974, the modest wooden shed was replaced by a masonry pavilion of gigantic dimensions by the standards of the time, whose foundations relied on the hands of its creators.
Restructured and equipped with new machinery, the unit started producing semi-finished and finished leathers for the Novo Hamburgo and Farroupilha factories.
Thus, Durli Leathers began its tradition in the noble and ancient art of leather tanning.
