A unique trajectory
The Durli brothers united their dreams and efforts to create a company that today is a benchmark for quality in the world leather market.
In 1960, Durli Leathers was born in the city of Erechim/RS, by the skillful and enterprising hands of the brothers Jandyr Sady Durli, Olímpio Durli and Egídio Durli, whose contribution lasted 30 years.
The modest dream, which began in a very artisanal way, was tanned in concrete tanks under the shade of a taquaral tree - which still exists today. God was with them at all times. Every difficulty was overcome and left a legacy of perseverance and faith.
A dream that was loaded onto the back of a cart and sewn together with a lot of work on the plate of an Elastic Patent machine, but which, even in the face of so many challenges, has served as a strong and resilient foundation for the history of expansion and growth that Durli Leathers has promoted over all these years.
The resources were few, but the will to work was great! So, in 1974, the wooden shed was replaced by a masonry pavilion of gigantic dimensions by the standards of the time, whose foundations were laid by the hands of its founders.
With increased capacity and first-rate suppliers, the unit began producing Crust and Finished leathers. Developing high quality leather, Durli Leathers soon became the national benchmark for Wet Blue leather. And in 1986 it was already exporting shavings and hides to Asia and Europe.
Time passed. The company grew and so did the children. With the arrival of Volnei Roberto Durli and Evandro Luís Durli, a new rhythm was imposed on the business. And the time had come to go beyond the borders of Rio Grande do Sul and embark on an interstate expansion to the Midwest and North of the country and win loyal customers around the world.
