Animal hides, especially those from cattle, which account for 69% of all hides produced globally, represent a valuable resource on a world scale. Thanks to the knowledge and skill of tanners and manufacturers, it is possible to avoid these hides becoming landfill waste. Estimates indicate a saving of 7.5 million tons from cattle hides alone out of a total of approximately 10 million tons annually. It's a remarkable transformation into a durable, elegant, valued and very versatile material, of what could be waste if not treated properly.

In addition, the leather industry creates jobs and develops skills for millions of direct and indirect employees around the world, an important pillar of sustainability and the circular economy.
